What is Nylon Yarn?

What is nylon yarn?

Monofilament yarn can be obtained by direct spinning or by splitting the mother yarn. It has exceptional resistance, and hence, it is utilized for fuel and chemicals. This type of monofilament is widely used in the production of filter fabrics and automotive utilities. A polyester monofilament yarn is also used in knitting and weaving. It is available in semi-dull, bright, and dope-dyed finishes.

Nylon Air Covered Yarn (Nylon ACY)

Air-covered yarn is manufactured by interlacing Spandex yarn with nylon with the help of compressed air. The air is applied through a nozzle, which regulates the flow. Spandex is applied during the draw-texturizing process of polyester or nylon to eliminate the need for an additional spandex application.

Nylon Highly Oriented Yarn (Nylon HOY)

Nylon HOY sets itself apart from the traditional FDY due to its elasticity. The fabric can be knitted or woven and is mainly utilized for dress material, fancy fabrics for fashion, home textiles, etc. HOY has high elongation with low shrinkage characteristics.

Nylon High Tenacity Yarn

Nylon 6.6 & 6 high-strength multifilament yarns are used in industrial applications i.e. tire cord fabrics, UV-protected Fabrics, fishing Net, airbags, etc.

Nylon Fully Drawn Yarn 6 & 6.6 (Nylon FDY)

The main utility of nylon FDY is to create narrow tapes, stockings, knitting, woven fabrics, and other items. It is also commonly knitted or woven with other filament yarns to produce a wide variety of fabrics. Nylon FDY is available in bright, semi dull and full-dull finishes.

Nylon poy is used as raw material for manufacturing Nylon FDY. For manufacturing FDY, a one-stage high-speed process is used. The post-processing craft, which enhances the intensity of nylon FDY through macroviscosity slice spinning, is complete after stretches. FDY is the entire stretch of silk.

The main uses of nylon FDY are stockings, knitting, weaving fabrics, looms, and hovercraft machines. Additionally, it can be knitted or woven with any other filament yarn to create fabrics of various types. It is mainly used in home furnishing fabrics, fashion fabrics, denim, Terry towels, and others. Nylon FDY is available in bright, semi dull and full-dull FDY.

Nylon Drawn Textured Yarn 6 & 6.6 (Nylon DTY)

One of the common uses of nylon POY includes the manufacturing of nylon drawn textured yarn, or nylon DTY.

Nylon POY is further twisted and drawn to produce DTY. Drawn-texture yarn is used for the manufacturing of hosiery items, fishing nets, and ropes, and high-tenacity nylon DTY is used for producing tire cord. Nylon DTY is available in semi-dull, full-dull, and bright finishes.

Nylon POY is used for the manufacturing of nylon DTY. Nylon ply is twisted and drawn for making DTY. Nylon DTY is used to manufacture hosiery items, fishing nets, and ropes, while high-tenacity nylon DTY is used to produce tire cord.

Nylon DTY is available in semi-dull and bright DTY luster. The masterbatch color is mixed with the raw material to make the dope-dyed DTY. Dope-dyed POY yarn can be used to make the dope-dyed DTY yarn. It is available in international standard packaging as a 1.89 kg cone. Countries like Egypt, Syria, Argentina, Iran, and several others are exporting large quantities of DTY from China and India. DTY yarn is normally available in the following deniers, and we can offer you the best quality of nylon DTY for all of these specifications.

Nylon Partially Oriented Yarn 6 & 6.6 (Nylon POY)

Nylon Partially Oriented Yarn, commonly known as Nylon POY, is the primary form of nylon yarn. It is also known as Nylon Pre-Oriented Yarn. It is the first form of yarn made directly by spinning nylon chips. Nylon POY is mainly used for manufacturing textured yarn. Nylon POY can be available in two lusters: semi-dull & bright. Dope-dyed technology is used for making colored POY. Nylon POY is mainly available packed in cones as per customer requirements.

Nylon POY is the primitive form of nylon yarn. It is also termed “Nylon Pre-Oriented Yarn.” It is the first form of yarn that is manufactured directly by spinning the nylon chips. This category of yarn is mainly preferred for the manufacturing of textured yarn. It is available in three finishes: semi-dull, full-dull, and bright. Dope Dyed technology is used for the manufacturing of colored POY.

Nylon Chip

Nylon 6 chips are obtainable by hydrolytic polymerization of caprolactam in the presence of dicarboxylic acids as chain regulators, subsequent processing of the polymer melt into chips, extraction of the low molecular weight portions from the chips with water, and subsequent drying of the chips.

Nylon 66 is made of hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid, which are combined with water in a reactor, which produces nylon salt. After the polymerization process, nylon 66 is produced. They are used for manufacturing textile-grade yarns as well as industrial products. Available lusters are bright & semi-dull.
