What is PV Velvet fabric?

Pv Velvet fabric or pv cashmere fabric is one of the latest and best-selling fabrics among textile fabrics.

PV velvet fabric, also known as polyester velvet, is a type of velvet fabric made from polyester fibers. Here are some key points about PV velvet fabric:

  1. Composition: PV velvet is primarily made from polyester fibers, making it durable and resistant to wrinkles and shrinking.
  2. Texture: It has a soft, luxurious texture with a short, dense pile that gives it a plush feel.
  3. Appearance: The fabric has a lustrous sheen and rich color, which makes it visually appealing for various applications.
  4. Uses: PV velvet is commonly used in upholstery, home decor (such as curtains and cushions), and fashion (including dresses, jackets, and accessories).
  5. Care: Polyester velvet is relatively easy to care for. It is usually machine washable, though it’s best to check the specific care instructions for each fabric. It can also be dry cleaned.
  6. Cost: It tends to be more affordable than natural velvet fabrics, such as those made from silk or cotton.
  7. Advantages: PV velvet is known for its durability, ease of maintenance, and resistance to fading and pilling. It retains its shape well and can handle frequent use.
  8. Drawbacks: Like other synthetic fabrics, it may not be as breathable as natural fibers and can sometimes be less comfortable in very warm climates.

The products are characterized by soft hand feeling, fine texture and environmental protection. Mainly used in night gowns, baby products, children’s clothing, clothing lining, shoes and hats, toys, car accessories, craft products, home accessories and other materials. In recent years, the home textile industry has become more and more popular.

What is Super soft Velvet fabric?

Super soft velvet fabric is a luxurious and plush type of velvet fabric known for its exceptionally soft and smooth texture.

Super soft velvet fabric is generally classified according to the length of the hair, ranging from 0.5mm to 8mm  (in jargon, 0.5 to 8 hair height). In the later stage, raising, printing and dyeing are generally treated with live wool, which is divided into live wool on one side and live wool on both sides.

Fine texture, soft hand, no ball, no color. No irritation to the skin, no allergy. Beautiful appearance, rich in color.

It is a newly developed substitute for Cotton Bathrobe in China.

Here are some details about super soft velvet fabric:

Material: Super soft velvet can be made from a variety of fibers, including polyester, silk, cotton, and blends. Each type of fiber contributes to the overall feel and characteristics of the fabric.

Texture: The defining feature of super soft velvet is its incredibly soft and smooth surface. This is achieved through a dense pile that is very fine and short, providing a velvety touch that is extremely pleasant to the skin.

Appearance: It typically has a rich, luxurious sheen and can come in a wide range of colors. The dense pile gives it a consistent, opulent look.

Uses: Due to its luxurious feel and appearance, super soft velvet is popular in high-end fashion (dresses, blouses, jackets), home decor (cushions, throws, drapes), and accessories (scarves, bags). It’s also favored for plush toys and other items where a soft texture is desired.

Care: Care instructions for super soft velvet can vary depending on the fiber content. Generally, it requires gentle handling:

  • Washing: Some super soft velvets can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water, but it’s often recommended to hand wash or use a professional cleaning service.
  • Drying: Air drying is usually preferred to maintain the fabric’s texture and avoid heat damage.
  • Ironing: Ironing should be done on the reverse side with a low-temperature setting, if at all necessary. Steam can be used to remove wrinkles without pressing directly on the fabric.

Cost: The cost of super soft velvet can vary widely. Natural fibers like silk velvet are more expensive than synthetic options like polyester or nylon.

Advantages: The primary advantages of super soft velvet are its luxurious feel and elegant appearance. It adds a touch of sophistication to any garment or decor.

Drawbacks: Super soft velvet can be more delicate than other fabrics. It can be prone to crushing (where the pile becomes flattened), and care must be taken to preserve its soft texture and sheen.

What is PV cashmere?

PV cashmere fabric is a blend of polyester (PV stands for poly-viscose) and cashmere. This combination aims to provide a balance between the affordability and durability of synthetic fibers and the luxurious softness of cashmere. Here are some details about PV cashmere fabric:

Composition: PV cashmere typically consists of a blend of polyester and cashmere fibers. The proportions can vary, but the polyester content generally makes up a significant part of the fabric to enhance durability and reduce cost.

Texture: The fabric is designed to mimic the softness and warmth of pure cashmere. While it may not be as soft as 100% cashmere, the addition of cashmere fibers gives it a notably soft and pleasant texture.

Appearance: PV cashmere fabric has a smooth, slightly fuzzy surface similar to pure cashmere. It often has a matte finish and can come in a wide range of colors.

Uses: This fabric is commonly used for clothing items such as sweaters, scarves, and shawls, as well as in home textiles like throws and blankets. It combines the luxurious feel of cashmere with the practicality of polyester.

Care: PV cashmere fabric is generally easier to care for than pure cashmere:

  • Washing: Many PV cashmere items can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water, but it’s best to follow the specific care instructions provided.
  • Drying: Air drying is recommended to maintain the fabric’s integrity and prevent shrinkage.
  • Ironing: If needed, ironing should be done on a low heat setting, ideally with a pressing cloth to protect the fabric.

Cost: PV cashmere is more affordable than pure cashmere, making it an attractive option for those who want the feel of cashmere without the high price tag.

Advantages: The main advantages of PV cashmere fabric include its softness, warmth, affordability, and ease of care. The polyester component adds durability and resistance to wrinkling and shrinking.

Drawbacks: While PV cashmere is soft, it may not match the luxurious feel of 100% cashmere. The presence of synthetic fibers can also make the fabric less breathable compared to natural cashmere.
