Why the Fiber-Machinery Connection Matters

A carding machine calibrated for 6D fiber processes 4D fiber differently and may require re-gearing to achieve optimal web uniformity. A pillow stuffing machine set up for siliconized HCS fill runs differently with non-siliconized fiber — the nozzle clearance, the blower speed, and the weigh scale calibration all change. A thermal bonding oven for 20% LMF blend needs different temperature and line speed settings than one running 25% LMF.
